What move/decision looms large after disappointing start to season
As the Las Vegas Raiders reach their bye week, it’s been a tough overall start to the season.
The Raiders don’t look like an improved team that finished 8-9 last season.
The reason for the Raiders’ issues are multifold. They have problems on the coaching staff on and the roster and they have made many mistakes dating back to early in the offseason.
Here are some of the mistakes made by the organization this year:
- They promoted Antonio Pierce from the interim head coach to the full-time head coach before hiring Tom Telesco as general manager and without a true coaching search.
- They could not finalize a deal with Kliff Kingsbury as offensive coordinator and then turned Luke Getsy, who was fired Sunday night.
- The Raiders didn’t trade up to draft one of the six rookie quarterbacks taken before they picked at No. 13, leaving their quarterback choice to Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell.
- They didn’t re-sign running back Josh Jacobs in free agency and the ground game has struggled badly.
- The reportedly could have gotten more for wide receiver Davante Adams prior to the season, but then traded him to the New York Jets during the season at a reduced price.
What do think was the biggest mistake?
