Before we talk about anything else, it’s important to remind fans of what the senior bowl really tells us.
It can help us ease concerns about the competition that some small school players face during the season, but there’s absolutely nothing a player can show us during a few days of practice and a scrimmage that should overrule multiple full seasons of game tape. If someone that was being overlooked shows up and has a great week, that should make evaluators go back to see if they missed anything, but at the end of the day, the tape doesn’t lie.
That being said, some NFL teams or media analysts put more stock in this week than I do, so ultimately, the Senior Bowl does have a legitimate effect on where these players end up being drafted and therefore is worthy of our attention.
