Three schools look set to join the Big 12 after the 2022-23 season, per Brett McMurphy of Action Network.
Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF are negotiating a massive settlement to join the conference. It’s believed to be around $17-20M.

This will help the conference for many years to come since Texas & Oklahoma are set to join the SEC in a couple of years.
All three of these schools are currently in the AAC but will face stiffer competition once they go to the Big 12. They’d have to be replaced, but it looks like that’s already being taken care of.
McMurphy is also reporting that Charlotte, FAU, North Texas, Rice, UAB, and UTSA would join the AAC in July of 2023.
Times are certainly changing in the world of college athletics. There are going to be more deals like this in the future.
