If the 2022 offseason ended today, it would go down as the most memorable in NFL history. After all, Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson have already been traded.
Thankfully, the NFL offseason isn’t anywhere close to being over. There’s still so much time remaining before training camp that it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a few more blockbuster trades.
So, which notable players could be on the move? CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin believes there are six quarterbacks that might just be trade candidates heading into April.
The most notable name on the list is Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. Until he signs a long-term contract with Arizona, people will speculate about his future.
Here are the six quarterbacks that could be trade candidates this offseason, per CBS Sports:
- Kyler Murray
- Jimmy Garoppolo
- Baker Mayfield
- Jared Goff
- Nick Foles
- Sam Darnold
Jimmy Garoppolo could be on the move as soon as his shoulder injury fully heals. For now, the 49ers are keeping him on their roster.
Baker Mayfield, meanwhile, might have to agree to a reduced salary in order for his trade market to heat up.
NFL fans might not be actively rooting for a trade involving Jared Goff, Nick Foles or Sam Darnold, but those type of moves are certainly possible.
Let’s also not forget that multiple trades usually happen before, during and after the NFL Draft.
