The Green Bay Packers shocked their fan base this Thursday night, using their first-round picks on Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt.
The majority of the fan base wanted the Packers to draft a wide receiver. Aaron Rodgers, however, is content with the team’s draft strategy.
While on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers said he knew the Packers were going to bolster their defense in the first round. That’s because the top six wide receivers on their board were already gone.
Rodgers’ comments might not ease the pain of the Packers missing out on prospects like Treylon Burks and Jameson Williams, but at least everyone in the building is on the same page.
For that reason alone, Packers fans are trying to stay optimistic.
“Packers are fine,” one fan said. “We’re always fine.”

“You can’t be mad at what we did,” another fan wrote. “Our defense is so legit! There’s plenty of good WRs in the mid rounds. We obviously still need to make a trade for an established WR but Walker and Wyatt are good picks!”

“They probably had about as good as a draft as they could have had considering WR value was gone at 22,” a third fan wrote. “A better run D will do wonders for this team.”

The Packers still have plenty of picks remaining to address their need at wide receiver, as prospects like Skyy Moore, Alec Pierce and George Pickens remain on the board.
Green Bay owns a pair of second-round picks at the moment.
