Our first look at the division first round
Silver and Black Pride has begun with some mock drafts from different staff writers and expect more to come in the coming weeks.
This is my first dive into the mock-draft pool this year and will do varying mocks. I’m going to start by looking at the AFC West in the first round as free agency settles down.
Let’s check it:
No. 6, Las Vegas Raiders:
Mason Graham, defensive tackle, Michigan:
Don’t lock me in with this pick. It will likely change often, but if Graham falls to six, a big if, I could see the Raiders jumping on him. He would be a great fit with Maxx Crosby, Christian Wilkins and Malcolm Koonce on the front four. New Las Vegas general manager John Spytek, a Michigan man himself, said he wants build in the trenches. Boy, would this a good start.
No. 20, Denver Broncos:
Matthew Golden, wide receiver, Texas
The Broncos are trying to load up on offense to build around second-year quarterback Bo Nix. Golden could be a dynamic player. North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton could be an option as well.
No. 22, Los Angeles Chargers:
Mykel Williams, edge, Georgia:
He didn’t have a great pro day and there is some injury issues. But Williams is a great talent and the Chargers opt to replace the released Joey Bosa with this high-ceiling talent.
No. 31, Kansas City Chiefs:
Grey Zabel, offensive lineman, North Dakota State:
The Chiefs have big needs in front of Patrick Mahomes and Zabel is a versatile player who projects to be a strong pro.
