One of Alabama football’s incoming transfers was arrested on several charges over the weekend. According to a police report, former LSU cornerback Eli Ricks was arrested in Mississippi on charges of speeding, no insurance and possession of marijuana in the first offense.
Ricks announced just recently that he’d be transferring from LSU to Alabama this offseason. He’s expected to play a key role for the Crimson Tide defense this upcoming season.
He played in 14 games over two seasons with the Tigers, totaling 31 tackles and five picks during that span.
“Players gotta stop getting in their own way man, small blimp in the road for Alabama CB [Elias Ricks] but these guy’s gotta be smarter,” CFBLive247 tweeted.

“Tough. Speeding. No insurance. Weed. If he is making NIL money how do you not have insurance? No one should be arrested for weed,” a fan said. “Anyone know the actual reason why OSU didnt follow through with Ricks?”

Hopefully this doesn’t impact Ricks’ playing time this upcoming season.
Alabama opens the 2022 campaign on Sept. 3 against the Aggies of Utah State.
