Deshaun Watson is taking his time with his decision. ESPN’s Booger McFarland doesn’t think it should be so difficult, though.
The Houston Texans quarterback has reportedly narrowed down his options to the Falcons and Saints. The Panthers and Browns were previously in the mix.
McFarland believes Watson’s decision should be an easy one. Why? One team has a significantly better roster: the Saints.
The Falcons are going through a major rebuild. Regardless of Watson’s talent, it’s tough to imagine Atlanta could be a contender right off the bat. New Orleans, on the other hand, could compete for the NFC next season if Watson was in the black and gold.
When u compare the roster in Atlanta and the roster in New Orleans this decision should’ve been made a while ago. One is really good and one is really not

“When u compare the roster in Atlanta and the roster in New Orleans this decision should’ve been made a while ago. One is really good and one is really not,” McFarland tweeted.
He’s not wrong. The Saints are far better equipped for immediate success. Deshaun Watson is no doubt factoring that into his decision.
Whichever team lands Watson probably won’t have him for a few games this upcoming season. The expectation is that the NFL will suspend the young star, despite the fact he was recently cleared of all criminal charges. A four- to six-game suspension could be in the works.
Will Deshaun Watson choose to play for the better roster and pick the Saints? Or does a rebuild in Atlanta and the connections he has there entice him to pick the Falcons? We should find out soon.
