The Raiders look to be finally getting one of their top choices this cycle. They are reportedly closing on a deal to make John Spytek their new GM.
Sources: The Raiders are expected to hire Bucs assistant GM John Spytek as their new general manager.
A top lieutenant for GM Jason Licht, Spytek is respected for helping build the Bucs… including when they won the Super Bowl with Tom Brady, a Raiders limited partner.

Spytek has held various roles in NFL organizations over the past 21 years, the past two seasons in his current position.
Prior to that, he had spent two seasons as the team’s Vice President Player Personnel.
His first NFL job came in 2004 as an intern with the Detroit Lions. He was then an intern with the Eagles for a season before spending ten years in the scouting departments with he Eagles, Browns, and Broncos. It was in 2016 that he was hired by the Buccaneers to be their Director of Player Personnel, a position he held for five years.
The Buccaneers have made the playoffs in each of the last five seasons, starting with winning the Super Bowl in 2020 with Tom Brady at QB who is now a minority owner with the Raiders. So, yeah, there’s a relationship there.
