A second grand jury has made a decision on the additional sexual misconduct accusation made against Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.
On Thursday, a second grand jury in Texas decided against indicting Watson based on the evidence it reviewed.
The second grand jury considered further evidence related to an additional accusation of sexual misconduct against Watson. But the jury deemed the evidence insufficient to bring to trial.
“‘After a careful and thorough review of the facts and evidence documented in the reports prepared by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Police Department, as well as hearing testimony from witnesses, the Grand Jury for Brazoria County has declined to charge Deshaun Watson with any crimes. Accordingly, this matter is closed,’ Brazoria County District Attorney Tom Selleck said in a statement,” via ESPN.com.

Since acquiring Deshaun Watson in a blockbuster trade with the Houston Texans, the Browns have faced backlash.
The team has defended the decision, however, following its own investigation into the matter.
“We are acutely aware and empathetic to the highly personal sentiments expressed about this decision,” Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam said in the statement, via ESPN.com. “Our team’s comprehensive evaluation process was of utmost importance due to the sensitive nature of his situation and the complex factors involved. We also understand there are still some legal proceedings that are ongoing and we will respect due process.”
The NFL, meanwhile, has yet to make a decision on Watson. The expectation is that he could face a multi-game suspension.
The league will continue handling its own investigation of the former Texans and now Browns quarterback.
