Following the tragic death of Kobe Bryant in 2020, some fans were wondering what would become of the decades-long brand deal he had with Nike. Today, his widow Vanessa Bryant revealed the answer.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Bryant announced that the Mamba brand partnership with Nike will continue. Products dedicated to her late daughter Gianna “Gigi” Bryant will also continue.
Bryant expressed pride in the fact that Kobe’s shoes remain the most worn brand by active NBA players and said that the partnership will continue “for years to come.” Vanessa Bryant also pledged to donate 100-percent of yearly proceeds from products would go to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
Lastly, Bryant announced a partnership with Nike to build a youth basketball center in Southern California.
“We’re excited to announce our partnership with Nike is going to continue! I am so proud that my husband’s shoes are still the most worn by players on NBA courts and that the demand for his shoes remain so desired by his fans around the world. With this new partnership, fans will soon be able to have access to Kobe and Gigi Nike product for years to come and with Nike donating 100% of the net proceeds yearly for Gianna’s shoes to our Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation (M&MSF). I am also grateful that Nike and I will work together to establish a youth basketball center in Southern California that will share the Mamba Mentality with youth athletes for generations to come. I know this is an inspiring moment for my husband and daughter’s global fans, and I am very appreciative of each and every one of you!
With Gratitude for every fan around the world supporting Kobe and Gigi’s Legacy,”

NBA fans on Twitter were delighted by the news. Mamba-themed shoes have not been released since the tragic helicopter crash in 2020.
Some are speculating that the new release will be the most desired new release of a Nike shoe ever.
Gigi Bryant will also be getting her own shoe line.
