Charles Barkley’s beloved Auburn Tigers are about to play the Miami Hurricanes with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line. And Barkley has made a bold promise if his team wins.
Ahead of the game, Barkley pledged to take his shirt off if Auburn wins the game against Miami. He said he was going to do his impression of Houston Cougars head coach Kelvin Sampson, who took his own shirt off after they punched their ticket to the Sweet 16 over Illinois earlier today.
“I’m gonna be Kelvin Sampson tonight. If Auburn wins, I might consider taking my shirt off,” Barkley declared.
Kenny Smith pledged to douse Barkley in water if he did – just as the Houston players did to Sampson. Barkley (understandably) balked at that little add-on.
Some fans took to Twitter and were excited at the idea of Barkley stripping down on live television. But most people said they hope the Tigers lose just so they don’t have to see it:

Auburn won the SEC regular season and Tournament titles and entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region. They had little trouble putting No. 15 Jacksonville State away in the Round of 64.
But the No. 10 seeded Miami Hurricanes won’t exactly be an easy win. They just beat USC, the No. 7 seed and the No. 22 team in the nation, to reach this point.

But if Bruce Pearl can lead the Auburn Tigers to a win – and the Sweet 16 – Charles Barkley might find himself in an ultra-celebratory mood.
