Another veteran quarterback is hitting the open market.
According to a report, the Chicago Bears are releasing Nick Foles per his request.
The #Bears have agreed to release QB Nick Foles, his agent Justin Schulman confirmed. The team’s new regime decided to allow Foles to find his next home rather than continue to search for a trade partner. “Ryan Poles did the classy thing and Nick appreciates it,” Schulman said.

The Bears had been trying to find a trade partner for Foles, who projected to be the team’s third-string option behind Justin Fields and Trevor Siemian this upcoming season. But the team had no luck.
Now, the Bears are doing the right thing and allowing Foles to find a new home.
“Ryan Poles did the classy thing and Nick [Foles] appreciates it,” said Justin Schulman, Foles’ agent.
For being a Super Bowl-winning quarterback, Foles hasn’t exactly received the respect he’s deserved in past years. He was put in a tough situation in Chicago, though. Fields will be the starter there for a while.
Foles is a 10-year NFL veteran who’s played for five NFL organizations including the Eagles, Rams, Chiefs, Jaguars and Bears. He’s thrown for 14,003 yards and 82 touchdowns with 43 picks during that span.
He’s, of course, well known for being one of the few quarterbacks to beat Tom Brady in a Super Bowl. And he’ll forever be a legend in Philadelphia because of it.
Foles will have a new home in 2022.
