On Saturday, Christian Eriksen returned to the Denmark national time for the first time since collapsing on the pitch during the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship. Let’s just say his return to the pitch was glorious.
In the 47th minute of this Saturday’s international friendly against Netherlands, Eriksen scored a goal on his very first touch. It was a beautiful strike into the left-hand corner of the net.
Despite being in enemy territory, there were enough Denmark fans in the stands to give Eriksen a much-deserved standing ovation.

This is truly a remarkable story that just continues to grow for Eriksen.
At this point, we shouldn’t be surprised if Eriksen suits up for Denmark during the World Cup in Qatar.
