For the second time in 24 hours, the Cleveland Browns have made a trade involving a quarterback.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Browns are sending Case Keenum to the Buffalo Bills for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick.
“Another QB trade in Cleveland: The Browns are sending veteran Case Keenum to the Bills for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick, per sources,” Pelissero announced on Saturday afternoon.
Keenum signed a three-year, $18 million contract with the Browns in 2020. He finished this past season with 462 passing yards, three touchdowns and an interception.
This is a savvy move for the Bills considering they needed a new backup quarterback. With Mitchell Trubisky now on the Pittsburgh Steelers, the No. 2 spot on Buffalo’s depth chart will be occupied by Keenum.

As for the Browns, they’ll need to search for a new backup quarterback.
If Deshaun Watson faces discipline from the NFL, the Browns will need someone capable of holding down the fort during his absence.
Let’s also not forget that Cleveland has to figure out where it’s going to send Baker Mayfield. It’s a busy offseason for general manager Andrew Berry, that’s for sure.
