Duke, the No. 2 seed in the West Region, is off to the Sweet 16. No one expected that to happen, right?
Well, that’s what one Blue Devils star player appears to believe following his team’s win on Sunday evening.
Duke topped Michigan State, the No. 7 seed, in a closely fought game in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Following the win, Duke star Paolo Banchero played the “nobody believed in us” card, which is pretty strange for a Blue Devils team.
they said we weren’t making it out the first weekend…😂see y’all on the best coast 💙💙💙💙💙

Did anyone actually say that?

“Who’s they????” one fan tweeted.
“Let’s be clear that not a single person said that,” another fan added.
“Who the hell is saying this about a 2 seed?” one fan added.
“Duke has 5 (five) predicted first round picks. I don’t think a single person said this,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Athletes do love to make up things to motivate them – no one did it better than Michael Jordan. If it works, it works.
Duke will face Texas Tech in the Sweet 16.
