The Dallas Cowboys failed to land Von Miller in free agency.
While Dallas reportedly had interest in the star pass rusher, he opted to sign with the Buffalo Bills instead. Miller reportedly agreed to a six-year, $120 million contract with the AFC East champions.
According to a report on Wednesday night, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott did a heavy recruitment of Miller. However, Dallas’ front office never made an offer.
“I’m told Dak Prescott put more effort into recruiting Von Miller than Cowboys management. Once Gregory signed with Denver, Miller had Dallas as his #1 destination. Dallas never made an offer. The Cowboys need someone in the locker room that understands what it takes to win a Super Bowl,” Newy Scruggs tweeted.

Yikes.
“It couldn’t be more of a mess right now (I say, knowing good and well it will get messier),” one fan tweeted.
“Just wait I can almost guarantee it, that more noise about the front office will come out,” another fan added.
“I just don’t understand how you can sell the idea of playing for the Dallas Cowboys as a good thing nowadays,” another fan added.
To be fair to the Cowboys’ front office, six years and $120 million is a massive investment for Miller, especially at his age.
.@VonMiller is joining a @BuffaloBills defense that did this in 2021:
PPG allowed: 17 (1st in NFL)
Total YPG: 272.8 (1st in NFL)
Pass YPG: 163.0 (1st in NFL)
3rd Down %: 30.8 (1st in NFL)
Opp Passer Rating: 65.3 (1st in NFL) pic.twitter.com/zm9F0liB1b— NFL (@NFL) March 16, 2022
Still, the Cowboys have some big holes to fill on defense, and Miller won’t be filling any of them.
