The Portland Trail Blazers are going to be without their best player for the rest of the season.
Damian Lillard has been ruled out for the rest of the year after undergoing surgery on his abdominal in January. He’s made progress since that surgery, but ultimately not enough to where he’ll be healthy enough to return.

It makes a lot of sense for Portland to hold him out until next year. For starters, the Blazers aren’t going to make the playoffs this year. They’re currently 26-44 overall and have lost nine of their last 10 games.
He also needs to be healthy if Portland is going to let him go in the offseason. There have been numerous rumors that he could be traded at some point since the Blazers are rebuilding.
The NBA world made sure to give their thoughts on this breaking news.

Before getting hurt, Lillard was averaging 24 points per game, plus a little over seven assists per game.
