What if the Chiefs give the best offer?
It appears the Las Vegas Raiders are going to trade superstar wide receiver Davante Adams.
The team is reportedly open to listening to trade offers and Adams himself is reportedly prefers to be traded.
The question now is where the Raiders will trade Adams to?
There should be a big market for Adams. Many teams will be interested likely including the New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Commanders, Baltimore Ravens and more.
The issue may be trade compensation. ESPN has reported that the Raiders are looking for a second-round pick plus some in return for Adams. That may not seem like much considering the Raiders are two and half years removed from sending first and second-round picks to the Green Bay Packers for Adams. But he will be 32 in December and he is basically a rental for the rest of the season because his contract will have to be redone.
That brings us to the Kansas City Chiefs. They probably need a wide receiver more than any contender the league as they are dealing with long-term injuries to Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice.
A trade between the AFC West rivals would seem unlikely as the Raiders would not want to help Kansas City try to win a third straight Super Bowl title. ESPN has reported the Chiefs aren’t expected to be an option to land Adams. Plus, the Chiefs have financial restraints that would get in the way. But what if the Chiefs give the Raiders their best offer.
Should they do it or would it be too painful to see Adams flourish with Patrick Mahomes?
