The NBA announced the decision Tuesday to fine Draymond Green $25,000 for cursing at an NBA official.
During the third quarter of Sunday’s 110-108 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, the Golden State Warriors star was ejected after receiving two technical fouls less than a minute apart.
On Tuesday, per NBA reporter Jason Dumas, President of League Operations Byron Spruell levied the punitive punishment “for directing profane language toward a game official.”

On March 14, Green returned from a back injury that sidelined him two months. He’s scored just 12 combined points in three games but has also tallied 21 rebounds and 14 assists.
According to Team Rankings, Green has received 11 technical fouls in 37 games this season. Anyone with 16 technicals throughout the season receives a one-game suspension.
Having lost seven of their last 11 games, the Warriors dropped to third in the Western Conference standings behind the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzles. They have 11 games remaining to re-claim the second seed, including a head-to-head meeting at Memphis next Monday.
With an injured Stephen Curry sidelined indefinitely, Golden State can’t afford to lose Green to any more early ejections.
