The Pittsburgh Steelers entered the 2022 NFL Draft with two veteran quarterbacks, Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph, on the roster. To the surprise of many, they added not one, but two more quarterbacks in the draft.
First, the Steelers took former Pitt star Kenny Pickett with the No. 20 overall pick on Thursday night. Then during Saturday’s seventh round, the AFC North organization went out and took South Dakota State standout Chris Oladokun.
Pittsburgh now has four quarterbacks, two veterans and two rookies, on the roster. Someone is going to be an odd man out, right?
Everyone thinks the Steelers will move on from Rudolph at some point ahead of the 2022 season.

“Mason Rudolph may very well see himself traded (writing seemingly on the wall). I wish him nothing but the best. He seemed to become the primary target of many fans on social media, simply for not being quite good enough to be the heir apparent.”

The Steelers will likely keep Rudolph on the roster through training camp. He’ll have to fend off the rookies to stay on the roster.
Mitch Trubisky and Kenny Pickett, meanwhile, will battle for the starting gig in Pittsburgh.
