On Thursday night, the Green Bay Packers shocked the football world by trading wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Of course, it didn’t take long for fans to start wondering if Aaron Rodgers knew this was going to happen. Immediately after the trade, NFL insider Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport both said the same thing.
They confirmed that Rodgers signed his new contract with Green Bay. So, for those wondering if Rodgers would somehow get away from the Packers, there’s the answer.

According to Rapoport, Rodgers was aware of the possibility that Adams wouldn’t play for the Packers in 2022.
“While Aaron Rodgers was negotiating his contract, he knew Davante Adams would never play for the Packers again. The situation was too far gone. Something had to give. And when Adams informed GB he wasn’t playing on the tag, talks got fired up. Now, Adams will be on the Raiders,” Rapoport said.

Even if Rodgers knew Adams would be gone, that’s a tough pill to swallow for the back-to-back MVP. He’s losing his top target and the Packers don’t have anyone to replace him.
Well, at least not yet. Multiple reports suggest the Packers were searching the wide receiver market before moving on from Adams.
