Fan base is all in
The Las Vegas Raiders’ fan base is all in on Pete Carroll.
We recently asked our community members to pick the best coaching hire of the 205 NFL hiring cycle.
To recap, here are the new hires for the 2025 NFL season, presented in alphabetical order:
- Pete Carroll, Las Vegas Raiders. Last job: Let go by Seattle Seahawks as head coach after 14 seasons after 2023 season.
- Liam Coen, Jacksonville Jaguars. Last job: Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator.
- Aaron Glenn, New York Jets. Last job: Detroit Lions defensive coordinator.
- Ben Johnson, Chicago Bears. Last job: Detroit Lions offensive coordinator.
- Kellen Moore, New Orleans Saints. Last job: Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator,
- Brian Schottenheimer, Dallas Cowboys. Last job: Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator.
- Mike Vrabel, New England Patriots. Last job: Cleveland Browns consultant.
In a poll with nearly 500 votes cast, Carroll was a runaway winner at 66 percent. Johnson, who the Raiders reportedly who most targeting, received 18 percent and Vrabel received 11 percent. The other four hires received minimal voting support.
We don’t know if Carroll will be a home-run hire, but he has support of the fans.
