Champ Kelly is headed to the AFC East
Champ Kelly has landed on his feet.
ESPN has reported Friday that the Las Vegas Raiders’ former assistant general manager is headed to the Miami Dolphins to work in their front office in a senior personnel executive role in which he will work in both pro and college scouting.
Former Raiders assistant GM Champ Kelly, who has interviewed for multiple GM jobs across the league in recent years, has agreed to join the Dolphins as a senior personnel executive, working in both pro and college scouting.

Kelly was with the Raiders since 2022. Former general manager Dave Ziegler brought Kelly to Las Vegas from the Chicago Bears as the assistant general manager in 2022.
Kelly became the interim general manager in November, 2023 after Ziegler was fired. He interviewed for the full-time job in 2024, but the Raiders chose Tom Telesco to be the general manager. Telesco retained Kelly in his role.
Kelly was not interviewed this year when Spytek was hired after Telesco was fired.
Now, he gets a chance to start fresh in the AFC East.
