The fight between Will Smith and Chris Rock at The Oscars was reportedly started by a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.
According to reports from The Academy Awards, Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith being in “G.I. Jane” due to her bald head.
Jada Pinkett Smith has struggled with hair loss, something she’s opened up about in recent months.
Clearly, Will Smith was not a fan of the joke. He rushed the stage, punched Rock and yelled at him from his seats.

Video from a commercial break shows Smith being comforted by Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry.

We could be hearing more from Smith later in the evening, as he’s a favorite to win best actor for his performance in King Richard.
