The Philadelphia Eagles made one of the biggest trades of the offseason on NFL Draft night, when they acquired A.J. Brown from the Tennessee Titans.
While Brown had been mentioned in trade talks for a while, the move was still pretty surprising, as many had assumed he would be staying put in Tennessee.
According to a recent report, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was the big driving force behind the blockbuster trade.
From ESPN.com:
Hurts put a “bug in [the Eagles’] ear,” leading up to the draft, Brown said, and lobbied both the team and Brown to make a deal happen as they worked against the clock Thursday.
“I’m extremely excited to play with him,” Brown said. “We always joked about it, but we never thought it would be reality.”
Hurts got his wish.

Eagles fans are excited, that’s for sure.
“That job security is a lot safer than some of y’all think if a franchise is listening to their QB on trades like this. Jalen also lobbied for his former TE Grant Calcaterra in the draft, which the Eagles then drafted…” one fan tweeted.
“You would not have AJ Brown if it wasn’t for Jalen Hurts,” another fan added.
“Hurts is a leader and makes relationships it feels like with ease A strong trait to have in your QB guys wanna play for a guy like that Now let’s see if his arm can keep them happy,” one fan added on social media.
It’s going to be a big year for Hurts and the Eagles. Philadelphia will look to take a step toward legitimate contention in the NFC.
