Former NFL head coach Jeff Fisher is on the board in the USFL. Fisher earned his first win in the new league this afternoon.
After dropping their first two games, the Michigan Panthers shut out the Pittsburgh Maulers today as Fisher moved to 1-2 in his USFL career. Michigan’s defense stole the show, and its ground attack produced 244 yards and three touchdowns on 42 carries.
Fisher, who is also the Panthers’ general manager, registered 173 regular season wins during his NFL career but had not won a game as a head coach since November 13, 2016. That day, Fisher’s St. Louis Rams beat the New York Jets 9-6.
This afternoon’s win has Fisher’s name getting a lot of play in the football world.

Congrats to Jeff Fisher and the Panthers on getting their first dub, but they don’t have long to enjoy it. They’ll take on the Philadelphia Stars on a short week this Friday night.
The Stars (1-1) are set to kick off in a few minutes against the New Jersey Generals.
