Those hoping to create the perfect bracket for March Madness likely saw their dreams come crashing down on Thursday afternoon.
On the first official day of Round of 64 action, No. 12 seed Richmond took down No. 5 seed Iowa with a strong performance. The Hawkeyes were a trendy pick as a potential Final Four sleeper after winning the Big Ten tournament.
However, a 67-63 win for Richmond left the Hawkeyes – and plenty of fans – licking their wounds. So, how did Iowa’s loss impact brackets all over the country?
Well after just a handful of games, fewer than two percent of brackets still have every pick correct. Only 1.76-percent of brackets are perfect right now, according to the NCAA’s March Madness Twitter account.

Even more of those brackets could be busted if No. 16 seed Georgia State continues its impressive performance against No. 1 seed Gonzaga. The Panthers are holding their ground against the Bulldogs in the second half.
Gonzaga holds a 52-50 lead with just over 14 minutes left in the game.
