Saint Peter’s men’s basketball team is off to the Sweet 16, as the No. 15 overall seed in the East Region has made a stunning run in the NCAA Tournament.
The basketball squad isn’t the only aspect of the school that’s gone on a crazy run this March, though.
Saint Peter’s cheerleaders have been on a pretty epic run this March, too.
The school’s cheerleading team wasn’t present for the first round win over No. 2 seed Kentucky on Thursday. The school didn’t have the budget to send the cheerleading team to the first round game.
Thankfully, the cheerleaders got some help for the second round.

Peacock TV got involved, paying for the cheerleading team’s trip.
“What?! Birds of a feather MUST flock together. Pack your bags Spirit Squad. We’re getting you to the game,” Peacock TV wrote on Twitter just after midnight on Friday morning. “Can you be ready in…a few hours?! We’re making this happen. #PeacockProud.”
The cheerleading team made it in time for the second round win over Murray State.
Hopefully we’ll see them in Philadelphia for the Sweet 16 against Purdue.
Tipoff is scheduled for shortly after 7 p.m. E.T. on Friday night.
