Malik Willis was considered by many to be the best quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft, and yet, he fell completely out of the first round.
The only quarterback taken on Day 1 was Kenny Pickett. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Pickett with the 20th pick.
Willis, who was in the green room in Las Vegas, had to watch 32 players drafted ahead of him. Although it must have been a tough moment, he made it known that he’s keeping his chin up.
“Still super appreciative and thankful for this opportunity to be in Vegas and is a prime example on adversity and continuing to grow in your faith TGFE,” Willis tweeted on Thursday night.

Willis finished his final season at Liberty with 2,857 passing yards and 27 touchdown passes. He also had 878 yards and 13 scores on the ground.
When it comes to his natural ability, Willis has exactly what NFL teams are looking for at quarterback. That being said, he probably needs to sit a year to develop properly.
Despite falling out of the first round, Willis should be a hot commodity on Friday night.
