ESPN could soon lose one of its top NBA broadcasters to the Association. Mark Jackson is reportedly a finalist for a significant head coaching position.
According to a report, Jackson has emerged as a finalist for the Sacramento Kings’ head coaching position. The former Warriors head coach has apparently been told he’s moving to the next round of interviews.
“Mark Jackson has emerged as a finalist for the Sacramento Kings head coaching job, sources tell me and @sam_amick,” said Shams Charania. “Kings GM Monte McNair has begun to notify candidates whether they will move onto in-person meetings.”
Jackson helped shape some of the current Warriors’ roster before he was replaced by Steve Kerr at the end of the 2014 season. He went 121-109 during his stint in Golden State and took back-to-back trips to the postseason in his final two seasons.
It’s about time he gets another shot in the NBA. The Kings could be a great fit.
“Don’t think hes perfect, but as a coach I feel like he is perfect for what the Kings need imo.”

Others aren’t as enthused about the idea of the Kings giving Jackson a shot.
“Poor Kings fans. Haven’t they suffered enough?”
