The Indianapolis Colts have had a lot of one-year stopgaps at the quarterback position ever since Andrew Luck retired.
From Jacob Brissett to Philip Rivers to Carson Wentz, there hasn’t been a longterm answer at quarterback since Luck’s shocking retirement.
The Colts believe that will change with Matt Ryan.
“Matt is different than Philip, this is definitely different than that,” Colts owner Jim Irsay said. “It’s not drafting Andrew Luck, but it’s different than Philip. We knew Philip was going to be a one-year sort of thing and we view this as very possibly a three-year thing. Who knows. It’s hard to put a number on it.”
Ryan is 36 years old, but the Colts see him as a multi-year acquisition.

It’ll be interesting to see if that ends up being true…
“I can see getting 3 yrs out of him,” one fan tweeted.
“As in two, yes,” another fan joked.
“Much like each of the last 6 QBs they’ve had the last 6 years?” one fan added on Twitter on Saturday night.
How do you see the Ryan to Indianapolis acquisition working out?
