The Tennessee Titans’ receiving corps took a massive hit on Thursday night simply because they traded A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles for the No. 18 and 101 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.
It became very apparent that Brown wanted a new deal from the Titans. However, the two sides were far apart in negotiations.
In an interview with ESPN, Brown said the Titans’ offer topped out at $16 million per season. The Eagles ended up giving Brown $25 million per season.
When the A.J. Brown trade was announced on NFL Network, there was a live shot of Titans head coach Mike Vrabel getting out of his chair. Judging by the video, Vrabel seemed frustrated with the move.

Speaking to the media, however, Vrabel said he was “comfortable” with how this situation played out.
“I love A.J. personally, but I am very comfortable with how this went down and how Jon and I were able to navigate,” Vrabel said, via ESPN. “I try to support him and make decisions. Unfortunately, we understand if we are going to be here a while, we are not going to be able to keep every single player that we draft and develop.”
Vrabel may have found the perfect replacement for Brown in Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks.
Only time will tell if Burks can fill Brown’s shoes in Tennessee.
