Nick Foles is finally getting the fresh start he’s been seeking.
On Saturday night, the Chicago Bears agreed to release the veteran quarterback after failing to find a trade partner for him.
Foles is officially on the open market. He’ll have a new home at some point this offseason.
The #Bears have agreed to release QB Nick Foles, his agent Justin Schulman confirmed. The team’s new regime decided to allow Foles to find his next home rather than continue to search for a trade partner. “Ryan Poles did the classy thing and Nick appreciates it,” Schulman said.

This is a pretty generous move by the Bears, and one that should set an example for the rest of the league.
Foles deserves a fresh start. After all, he’s won a Super Bowl and has over 14,000 career passing yards to his name.
Saturday night’s breaking news has the NFL world talking:
“Chicago has reportedly reached a resolution with QB Nick Foles which results in his release. Bears were not able to find a trade partner for him and get him dealt during the draft, so now he gets a chance to seek his next opportunity elsewhere.”

Where do you think Foles will be playing next season?
The Bears, meanwhile, are moving forward with Justin Fields as starter and Trevor Siemian to be his backup.
