Earlier this week, the New England Patriots made a final decision on N’Keal Harry’s fifth-year option for the 2023 season. They officially declined the Arizona State product’s option.
Harry, a former first-round pick from the 2019 NFL Draft, has not lived up to the hype in New England. This past season, he had 12 catches for 184 yards.
Considering he hasn’t had much success with the Patriots thus far, NFL fans aren’t surprised that Harry’s fifth-year option was declined.
“What a shock to everyone involved,” an NFL fan sarcastically said.

Perhaps this move by the Patriots will light a fire under Harry. However, there’s no telling he’ll be on the roster for the start of the 2022 season.
NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo recently spoke to Harry’s agent, Jamal Tooson, about his client’s future.
Tooson said Harry “understands what’s at stake this season and is doing his part to make sure he will be ready.” Additionally, he said that he’s had positive dialogue with the Patriots about exploring trade possibilities for Harry.
It’s possible the Patriots try to ship Harry elsewhere later this year.
