Las Vegas signed Green Bay cornerback this week
The Las Vegas Raiders signed cornerback Eric Stokes as a free agent recently.
Let’s take a closer look at Stokes:
Size:
6-1, 194 pounds.
NFL experience:
Stokes was drafted in the first round (No. 29) of the 2021 draft by the Green Bay Packers. He has started 32 games in his career. He has made just nine (seven in 2024) in the past two seasons. He missed a total of 22 games in 2022 and ‘23 because of injury. He was fully healthy in 2024.
College:
Stokes went to Georgia. He redshirted in 2017 and played three seasons for the Bulldogs. He was first-team All-SEC in 2020.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
The blazing-fast Stokes, who reportedly signed a one-year, $4 million deal with Las Vegas, is an outside cornerback and he will compete with Jakorian Bennett, jack Jones and Decamerion Richardson, among others, on Pete Carrol’s new defense. It may be a surprise if Stokes becomes a definite starter, but he is a solid piece who should be part of the playing rotation.
