Raiders reportedly will interview Denver defensive coordinator
The Las Vegas Raiders have started to request interviews for the coaching opening left by the firing of Antonio Pierce. They have requested to talk to five candidates so far: Aaron Glenn, Ben Johnson, Steve Spagnuolo, Todd Monken, Robert Saleh, Pete Carroll and now Vance Joseph.
Let’s get to know Joseph some more:
Current job:
Joseph is the defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos, a position he has held since 2023.
Age:
52.
Coaching experience:
Joseph has been an NFL coach for 20 seasons. He was a college coach for six seasons prior to that. He has been a defensive coordinator for seven seasons and hew as the Broncos’ head coach from 2017-18.
Other interest:
He will also interview with the New York Jets.
Will history repeat itself?
Raiders’ owner Mark Davis has twice before hired the current defensive coordinator of the Broncos: Dennis Allen in 2012 and Jack Del Rio in 2015.
Why the Raiders are interested:
Joseph did great work, making Denver’s defense a top unit in the league. He has head-coaching experience and he’s well respected.
