Would this be best move if Belichick were interested?
Things got interesting in these parts Wednesday morning when NFL Media reported that new Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady reached out to his coach with the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick, to see if he has interested in returning to the NFL.
The Raiders, of course, have a head-coaching opening after firing Antonio Pierce on Tuesday. Brady will be a big part of the hiring process.
It makes sense that Brady would check in with Belichick. They spent 20 seasons together with the New England Patriots and they won six Super Bowls together and they are the greatest coach-quarterback pairing ever.
The Athletic has reported Belichick is not interested in leaving North Carolina, where he was hired less than a month ago. But things can always change.
And the Las Vegas Review-Journal downplayed NFL Media’s report.
The sense I’m getting on @Raiders/Bill Belichick per sources: The talks were more about Tom Brady picking Belichick’s brain on search process/traits, etc, rather than trying to bring him to LV as the head coach.

If Belichick were to be interested, do you think he should be the top target of the Raiders or should they focus on other candidates?
