Las Vegas adds new defensive assistant
The Las Vegas Raiders have hired Pete Carroll as their new head coach. He is building his new staff. He has reportedly hired Beyah Rasool as a defensive assistant.
Let’s get to know Rasool better:
Last job:
He was at Florida the past two years. He was a cornerbacks quality control coach in 2024 and assisted with the special teams in 2023.
Age:
36.
Coaching experience:
Prior to Florida, Rasool was at Bowling Green as cornerbacks coach and before that hew as at Arizona defensive analyst. He was also a graduate assistant at Missouri.
Expected duties with the Raiders:
Likely be an assistant working with the secondary and doing general quality-control type work.
Why the Raiders would hire him:
Clearly, Carroll and his assistants think Rasool is the type of up-and-coming coach they can train and groom as he begins his work at the NFL level with an eye toward the future.
