Las Vegas hires experienced offensive coordinator
The Las Vegas Raiders have hired Pete Carroll as their new head coach. He is building his new staff. He has reportedly hired Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator.
Let’s get to know Kelly better:
Last job:
He was the offensive coordinator at Ohio State in 2024, where the Buckeyes won the national championship.
Age:
61.
Experience with Carroll:
The two never worked together. But they coached against each in college when Carroll was at USC and Kelly was at Oregon and in the NFC West when Carroll was with the Seattle Seahawks and Kelly coached the San Francisco 49ers.
Coaching experience:
Kelly has 10 years of college head-coaching experience at Oregon and UCLA and he has four seasons experience as an NFL head coach with the Philadelphia Eagles and the 49ers. He was last in the NFL in 2016 in San Francisco.
Why the Raiders would hire him:
Kelly is known as a strong play caller and Carroll has known and respected him for a long time.
