New linebackers coach has Pete Carroll ties
The Las Vegas Raiders have hired Pete Carroll as their new head coach. He is building his new staff. He has reportedly hired John Glenn as the linebackers coach.
Let’s get to know Glenn better:
Age: 41.
Last job:
He was the assistant special teams coach with the Washington Commanders under head coach Dan Quinn. The were in Seattle together.
Experience with Carroll:
Glenn was the Seattle Seahawks linebackers coach from 2018-23 under Carroll. He joined Carroll’s staff in 2012 to begin their long coaching relationship. Glenn served various roles under Carroll before taking over the linebackers coaching role. Among those roles were as an assistant special teams coach and defensive quality control coach.
Coaching experience:
Glenn was at the University of Washington and at North Carolina Wesleyan College for a combined total of five seasons as a coach.
Why the Raiders would hire him:
It’s clear Carroll is comfortable with Glenn and believes in his future.
