Derek Carr and the Raiders have have officially begun talks to keep the QB in silver and black. On Saturday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic shared that the two sides are coming to the table to lock Carr up with an extension.
Per Tafur, “It’s become a formality at this point but initial extension talks with Derek Carr have begun.”

This GIF though.
Carr had a tremendous 2021 as the Raiders’ QB.
The three-time Pro Bowler led Las Vegas to a 10-7 record, while throwing for 4,804 yards and 23 touchdowns to 14 interceptions. And while that pick number might look high, Carr regularly showed up when Rich Bisaccia and the rest of the team needed him most.
Now with Josh McDaniels manning the sidelines, and a new vision for the team’s front office, Carr is set to lead the Raiders into the middle of the decade in a stacked AFC West division.
With Russell Wilson’s arrival in Denver, Carr will now face Russ, Mahomes and Justin Herbert twice a year for the foreseeable future. If he responds like he did this past season, the Raiders shouldn’t have much to worry about.
