The Las Vegas Raiders emerge as the latest trade suitor for All-Pro DK Metcalf in new rumors that are spiraling. It’s already a busy offseason for Las Vegas, after acquiring Pete Carroll as their new head coach, it makes sense why they could target the wide receiver since the two have history. Carroll has the grit similar to Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh to turn around an organization into a winning culture. However, they have to figure out their quarterback situation, and they’ll more than likely trade Gardner Minshew and move Aidan O’Connell as their No. 2 signal-caller.
Last 2024 season was a brutal run for the franchise but with the moves they’re making now, they’re in for a joyride this upcoming Fall. Brock Bowers was their main go-to option, so they should prioritize solidifying their passing game and getting a superstar to help whoever will be the next quarterback. This is why Metcalf’s arrival could come suddenly if they sign veteran Russell Wilson to reunite with Carroll. It would be a no-brainer for him and the organization, which is shaping up to be a winning championship team.
Meanwhile, Metcalf has been vocal about the lack of targets with Geno Smith under center. It might suit him best to join a contender and that’s a team like Ravens, Chiefs could emerge as suitors too.

Helping Lamar Jackson
The Baltimore Ravens had all of the eggs in the basket to win a championship with quarterback Lamar Jackson. There were some moments where it was looking like missing a key wideout to help Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman could be an issue until it did in the postseason. The team had to embrace the playoffs without Flowers despite the roster trying to find a solution for Jackson’s passing game. After the Diontae Johnson experiment, the team might as well swallow their gut and try to trade for a veteran wide receiver like DK Metcalf who could give some relief for Flowers on the opposite end.
Nelson Agholor will become a free agent in March so they will need a new weapon no matter who it is. While they find a replacement for him, they should be looking for answers now rather than later. Jackson is in the prime of his career and they can’t let that go to waste so it shouldn’t be surprising if Metcalf lands in Baltimore. He has everything the Ravens are looking for and he could become their new favorite target in this offense.
Potential Financial Crisis
For the Chiefs, it’s going to be a rough offseason by the looks of their pockets. DeAndre Hopkins and Marquise Brown will become free agents so this means finding Patrick Mahomes new weapons will be their top priority. Even though they were able to survive without them at one point, they can’t afford to let things slip by this free agency. Rashee Rice is coming back next season but there’s no guarantee he’ll be back at full strength.
Meanwhile, rookie Xavier Worthy is still adjusting to the league, since Mahomes is aging, the Chiefs should do what they can to keep the team championship-worthy. DK Metcalf might have been slowing down, but with the right targets and a new offensive system, he could light up the field as soon as he touches it.
