Washington assistant general manager talking to Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders have started to request interviews for the general manager openings. They have requested to talk to Jon-Eric Sullivan, Jon Spytek, Sheldon White, Brandon Brown, Chad Alexander and Lance Newmark.
Let’s get to know Newmark some more:
Current job:
Newmark is the assistant general manager of the Washington Commanders, a position he has held since 2024.
Front-office experience:
He has 29 years of NFL experience. He was in the Detroit Lions’ front office for 26 years. Newmark left the Lions for Washington after finishing there as the senior director of player personnel. He helped oversee both the college and pro scouting departments. He started his NFL career with the San Diego Chargers.
Raiders’ interest:
Newmark worked closely with top Las Vegas coaching candidate Ben Johnson in Detroit. So, there is a chance the Raiders will try to pair J0hnsn and Newmark as a package deal as head coach and general manager. Also, Newmark worked with Raiders’ coaching candidate Aaron Glenn with the Lions as well.
