Do you like the Raiders’ choice for coach?
On January 1, we asked our community members if they would like the Las Vegas Raiders to hire former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll if the team fired coach Antonio Pierce.
It was an extremely close call. In a poll with 895 votes cast, 459 votes (51 percent in favor of the Raiders hiring the Super Bowl-winning coach, while 436 votes (49 percent) thought Carroll was just another retread. So, just 23 votes separated the poll.
Fast forward, 23 days and it is a reality as the Raiders have hired Carroll to replace the fired Pierce.
Now, that is has happened and Carroll will be taking over the Silver and Black, we want to know how you feel about it now.
On the bright side, Carroll is a proven winner and he has a great reputation as a culture builder. But, yes, the Raiders started this process looking for a young innovative offensive mind and Carroll, who will be 74 this year and will be the oldest head coach in NFL history, is nearing the end of his career.
So, there’s a lot to consider now that it’s official.
