Nickel cornerback was questionable with illness
Las Vegas Raiders starting nickel cornerback Nate Hobbs is inactive Sunday for their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Allegiant Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m. PT.
Hobbs was listed questionable with an illness as were fellow cornerback Sam Webb and linebacker Kana’i Mauga with illnesses. Hobbs returned in Week 14 after missing four games with an ankle injury. Webb and Mauga are both also out.
Aidan O’Connell, as expected, is starting at quarterback Sunday. O’Connell practiced all week after sitting out a 15-9 Wee 15 loss to the Atlanta Falcons with a knee bruise he suffered in A Week 14 loss at Tampa Bay.
Guard Jordan Meredith is inactive because of an ankle injury that has kept him out of practice. That means rookie Jackson Powers-Johnson is moving back to guard and Andre James will play center.
Powers-Johnson has started the past six games at center. James was hurt then the Raiders decided to go with the Powers-Johnson-Meredith combination, making James a backup. Now, he is returning to play Sunday.
