Voting for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games has already begun, and despite their record, the Las Vegas Raiders have a couple of players high on the list. Two of those players in rookie tight end Brock Bowers and defensive end Maxx Crosby, aren’t any surprise, but the third is an unsung but very deserving one.
First and foremost is Bowers, who leads all AFC tight ends in voting, as should be the case considering the year he is having, via Levi Edwards of Raiders.com:
Based off initial voting, tight end Brock Bowers currently leads all AFC tight ends in voting. He’s second among all NFL tight ends in voting, only trailing San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle.
Through 12 career games, Bowers ranks first in the league in receptions (84) and fourth in the league in receiving yards (884) – first among all tight ends. He’s broken the franchise rookie record for receptions in a single season and is only three receptions away from breaking the NFL rookie tight end receptions record.
Bowers has been a revelation as a rookie, immediately becoming the team’s best offensive weapon and delivering week after week. This won’t be the last time Bowers finds himself atop Pro Bowl voting lists, and if he keeps this up, he’ll be garnering plenty more accolades this season and in the future as well.
Crosby being among the top vote-getters for defensive ends is also to be expected, but linebacker Robert Spillane also finds himself in the Pro Bowl mix at linebacker as well:
Crosby, who’s been selected to three consecutive Pro Bowls, is fourth in the AFC among defensive ends. He’s currently tied with Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt for most tackles for loss in the league (16) while also ranking top 10 in the league in quarterback hits (19) and quarterback pressures (27).
Spillane is currently the third-highest vote-getter among inside linebackers in the AFC, seeking his first Pro Bowl selection. He currently leads the Raiders in solo tackles (67) and total tackles (111) which also rank among the top eight in the league in both statistics.
Crosby will always get deserved recognition as he continues to dominate the opposition, but seeing Spillane recognized is outstanding as he has been extremely consistent for the Raiders over the past two seasons and deserves a Pro Bowl nod.
Even with their struggles this year, there have been some outstanding individual performances for the Raiders this season and Bowers, Crosby and Spillane are showing that the Raiders have some real foundational pieces to build on.
Raiders Brock Bowers continues to make history in rookie season
A rookie in Brock Bowers leading Pro Bowl voting over future Hall of Famers such as Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews should be crazy, but considering how amazing Bowers has been, it isn’t at all.
Bowers continues to make history in his first season with the Raiders, becoming just the third rookie in NFL history and the first tight end to record at least 10 receptions in three different games. Additionally, Bowers became the first Raiders player to ever eclipse 80 receptions in the first 12 games of a season.
