Longtime successful slot receiver is available
The NFL offseason isn’t even in full swing when it comes to the player addition period, but some interesting and big names are coming available.
First, word broke that star defensive end Myles Garrett has requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns. Now, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp has announced the team will explore trading him.
Kupp was an elite slot receiver, but he has dealt with injuries in recent years and his production has dipped some. he will be 32 in June.
The Rams may also have trouble getting much for him in a trade because of his contract. So, there is potential for Kupp to be released.
Whether it is through a modest trade (in terms of what the Rams will receive in compensation for Kupp) or signing him as a free agent, perhaps the Las Vegas Raiders will consider signing Kupp.
New Las Vegas head coach Pete Carroll was a longtime NFC West foe of Kupp’s and he knows what he can bring to an offense. New Raiders quarterbacks coach Greg Olson was on the Rams’ offensive staff in both 2017 and ‘22 with Kupp.
Plus, the Raiders can use some help at the position.
Do you think Kupp would be a nice fit for the Raiders or do you think his best days are behind him?
