Former top pick would be a backup option
Zach Wilson?
Sure.
That means to be the mindset of several our community members. We recently asked our community members if they would be on board with the the Las Vegas Raiders signing the young quarterback when NFL free agency begins next week.
In a poll with nearly 500 votes cast, 66 percent of the voters (327) are in favor of the Raiders signing Wilson, while just 34 percent (169 voters) don’t thin it would be worth the team’s time to add Wilson to the quarterback room in Las Vegas.
There has been speculation this offseason that the Raiders could pursue Wilson on a short-term contract in free agency. Last week, the Las Vegas Review-Journal connected Wilson to the Raiders.
Obviously, there’s a long way to go with the @Raiders QB room, but a name that keeps coming up here in Indianapolis, at least in terms of bringing into the mix, is Zach Wilson.

If that’s the case, they would be signing on to give Wilson a chance to compete in training camp or even being a backup. Wilson was the No. 3 quarterback in Denver last year and who will turn 26 this year. Perhaps he could grow into the player that made the New York Jets take him with the No. 2 draft pick four years ago.
If if becomes a reality, it seems many Raiders fans would be fine with it.
