There is a report that Pittsburgh is interested in Jaguars quarterback
Will there be another quarterback available this offseason?
There was a repot Thursday morning that the Pittsburgh Steelers have reached out to the Jacksonville Jaguars about the availability of quarterback Trevor Lawrence. ESPN quickly poured water on the report.
Regarding recent report that Steelers have inquired about a trade for Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence, a Jaguars source said there’s “no chance” they’ll trade Lawrence and called the idea “ridiculous.”

But, perhaps where’s the smoke there is fire. So, if, indeed, Lawrence were to be available, here some things that may pertain to the Las Vegas Raiders in their pursuit of a quarterback.
Should Raiders call Jaguars?
The report of the Steelers’ interest will likely cause other quarterback-needy teams to inquire about Lawrence’s availability. It certainly can’t hurt for new Raiders’ general manager John Spytek to call down to Duval County. Lawrence would arguably be near, or at, of the top quarterbacks available this cycle and he is just 25 years old. Make the call.
If Pittsburgh lands Lawrence:
If the Steelers were to trade for Lawrence, it would take one less team out of the mix for a veteran quarterback such as Sam Darnold and Aaron Rodgers. Also, it would be a clear sign that Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are going elsewhere in free agency, which seems likely anyway.
Jaguars could block Raiders in draft:
If the Jaguars do trade Lawrence, that would make them a team to watch to draft a quarterback. They pick No. 5, one slot ahead of Las Vegas in the first round. It may already be tough for the Raiders to draft top quarterback prospects, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. This would be another quarterback roadblock in the draft.
Conclusion:
Who knows if this report is correct, again, it’s already been talked down, or if it will go anywhere. But if Lawrence were available, it would have a major affect on the quarterback-acquiring landscape this offseason that would ripple down to the Raiders.
